An orange alert has been issued for Delhi and the National Capital Region today as residents are likely to experience dust storms.

The India Meterological Department (IMD) issued a warning predicting light to moderate rain and thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds and dust-raising winds.

The alert comes after the national capital experienced extreme heat as the mercury rose to 40 degrees on Friday.

Parts of the city saw a sudden change in weather as strong winds and heavy rains poured, giving relief to the residents.

ANI shared visuals of rains from Saket.

The orange alert is the second of the week as the national capital received light to moderate rain on Tuesday as well.
