At the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, which is set to take place from May 1 to May 4 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, Panchyat is set to create history. The makers and the cast of the show will gather for a special session at the summit.
The session titled ‘Making of Panchayat Grassroot storytelling’, has been scheduled to honour and highlight the show’s contribution to the reimagining of regional storytelling on digital media. It will take place on day 3 of the summit and will be attended by Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav and Faisal Malik among others.
Panchayat is a comedy-drama web series that is set in a remote Uttar Pradesh village, Phulera, where engineering graduate Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) finds himself at the helm as the secretary of the local Gram Panchayat. The show explores the themes of rural life, politics, and relationships.
Besides Jitendra Kumar, Panchayat also stars Neena Gupta as Pradhan Manju Devi Dubey, Raghubir Yadav as her lovable but cunning husband Brij Bhushan Dubey, and Chandan Roy as the endearing office assistant Vikas. The show has three seasons as of now.
