Remember the first time Hrithik Roshan swung through the skies as Krrish back in 2006? Bollywood’s OG superhero made hearts race and imaginations soar, and now, over a decade later, he’s back in training mode, teasing fans about the fourth instalment of the franchise. Hrithik shared a new video on his HRX social media, showing him sweating it out at the gym, lifting heavy weights, and even hopping on a stationary bike—before flashing a still of himself as Krrish. Notable, it is the actor’s birthday today, January 10, 2026.
His girlfriend, Saba Azad, joins in for a playful high-five, making the workout session feel even more real.
The upcoming film has been in the works for years, and this time Hrithik is taking the director’s seat. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, his father Rakesh Roshan said, “The script didn’t take a lot of time. The pressure was the budgeting. Now that we have an idea of the definite budget required for this film, we’ll be starting the film. The work is going on in full swing. We are going to start shooting by the middle of next year. This is because the pre-production is much more extensive for this film. Hence, we have to be well prepared before we go on floors. We plan to release it in 2027."
Krrish 4 will be made in association with Yash Raj Films, though Hrithik’s last big YRF project, War 2, didn’t hit the mark at the box office. Hrithik acknowledged the setback while attending an event in Dubai: “That’s very kind of you… You know, my film just bombed at the box office, so it feels very good to get all the love. Thank you."
The franchise started with Koi Mil Gaya, where Hrithik’s character gains powers from an alien named Jadoo, which later pass on to his son Krishna Mehra in Krrish. Over the years, the films have become a defining part of Bollywood superhero lore.
Apart from Krrish 4, Hrithik has teamed up with Hombale Films, known for Kantara, for a new project described as “a tale of grit, grandeur and glory… where intensity meets imagination, and the Big Bang begins."
