The pre-wedding festivities of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in Udaipur turned sentimental Tuesday evening, when the sangeet venue was transformed into a private gallery with strings of lights and fresh blooms, dozens of framed photographs documenting the couple’s years together. The guests and staff at the event say that the décor was purposefully intimate, with many of the snaps showcasing private moments between the pair that stretch back to when they were co-stars.

Despite strict privacy measures reportedly requested by the hosts, short videos and a few images from the function leaked on social platforms on Wednesday, sending fans into a frenzy. Social posts show couples of candid frames and attendees reacting with heart emojis and pleas for the original pictures.

A tender highlight of the evening came when Vijay’s mother, Madhavi Deverakonda, addressed the gathering and dedicated a surprise family performance to “my darlings,” an emotional moment that was captured in a clip doing the rounds online. Reports also say that, during the festivities, she presented Rashmika with heirloom bangles, a gesture that symbolised the coming together of two families.

The couple kicked off their celebrations with a whimsical “Virosh Premiere League” cricket match, a fun fan variation on their portmanteau, before moving to the sangeet. Among those said to be attending and arriving in Udaipur were close friends and film-world colleagues of the couple, including Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Ashika Ranganath, and Rahul Ravindran. Celebrity stylist Shravya Varma also shared pictures from the Haldi in yellow outfits on her social feed.

Shravya Varma posted a glimpse of the Virosh haldi ceremony.

The wedding ceremony is scheduled for February 26 at an early-morning muhurtham, and the main functions are being held at a private luxury venue identified in reports as ITC Mementos. Haldi and mehendi were planned for Wednesday, with the haldi slated around midday and mehendi later in the evening. The couple has said the celebration will remain a close-family affair, and a larger reception for industry friends is expected in Hyderabad in March.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent the couple his congratulations and best wishes ahead of the ceremony, describing their union in warm terms and offering blessings for their future together. The letter and images of the note circulated on social media on Wednesday.

The pair lovingly called “Virosh” by their supporters go back to working together on films like Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019). They kept their relationship largely private for years before going public with an engagement late last year; the wedding announcement went out just days ago, sending social feeds into celebratory overdrive.
