Hansika Motwani and Sohael Khaturiya ended their relationship through a quiet but definite process which led to the legal dissolution of their marriage after they submitted a mutual consent petition at the Bandra Family Court. The court granted the decree on Wednesday, formalising a separation that according to filings has effectively been in place for months.

The couple started to live separately from each other from July 2, 2024 because their ongoing arguments made it hard for them to stay together in one home. The court petition explained that minor arguments which happened frequently with the couple's permanent temperamental and opinionated and lifestyle differences grew into bigger disputes which continued to occur throughout their relationship after their family and friends tried to help them.

Hansika's lawyer advocate Adnan Shaikh presented evidence to the court that his client and her husband had only lived together for a brief period after their December 2022 marriage before deciding to end their relationship. The legal route chosen was mutual consent, and both parties filed affidavits confirming they had no financial claims against one another.

Motwani chose not to seek streedhan or alimony. The divorce proceedings required maintenance and monetary claims to be included in the decree but she chose to proceed with her case without any such claims. Media reports say neither side is raising custody or financial disputes and there are no children from the marriage.

The two had married in a traditional ceremony on December 4, 2022, at Mundota Fort in Jaipur. The event received extensive media coverage at that time, but later, public interest grew when rumors of their relationship problems started to spread. The court order grants both parties their official status as single individuals who can now lead their independent lives.

The split demonstrates that both parties reached a peaceful and legal resolution which functions as their final settlement. At the time of filing neither Hansika nor Sohael had made any public statements and the existing coverage depended on court documents and legal representatives' confirmations. The media outlets report sensitive personal matters by using court records and lawyer statements instead of making speculative claims.
