Ed Sheeran's Chennai concert took an unforgettable turn when AR Rahman joined him on stage. The duo's surprise performance left the audience thrilled.

Ed Sheeran's concert in Chennai turned into an unforgettable evening when the pop artist invited composer AR Rahman on stage, much to the delight of the audience. The surprise collaboration featured a mesmerising mashup of Sheeran's global hit Shape of You and Rahman's classic Urvasi Urvasi.

As Ed Sheeran sang Shape of You, AR Rahman joined in with the iconic Urvasi Urvasi chorus. The crowd erupted in joy as the two musical legends collaborated for an eventful performance. Sharing the video on Instagram, Ed wrote, "What an honour @AR Rahman (sic)."

Fans reacted to this collaboration and expressed their delight. While some recalled their concert experience in the comments, others wished they were a part of it. A user also commented,"How lucky is Chennai."

Ahead of the concert, Ed Sheeran met AR Rahman and his son AR Ameen. Rahman shared the pictures of their meeting on Instagram. One photo showed them sitting on a couch, while another captured Rahman at his music console as Sheeran took a picture. "Photos by Ed Sheeran," Rahman wrote in the caption.

Ed Sheeran's performance in Chennai was part of his six-city India tour for The Mathematics series, which commenced in Pune on January 30. The British singer then performed in Hyderabad at Ramoji Film City on February 2. He is yet to perform in cities like Bengaluru, Shillong, and Delhi.
