Bryan Seaver was tasked with announcing the death of his beloved aunt, Dolly Parton, after years of serving as her head of security. However, less than one month after the “I Will Always Love You” artist’s death, Seaver and his entire team have been fired.
According to TMZ, Seaver was dismissed from all of Parton’s properties last Wednesday, September 16, amid drama surrounding the country icon’s estate.
Seaver’s replacement has already been installed at Parton’s Nashville, Tennessee, home, her museum, a downtown residence and warehouse, TMZ reported.
“We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,” Seaver and his team told the outlet, pointing to Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, as the mastermind.
Parton — who had personally requested her nephew announce her death in a video message to fans years before her passing — died on August 25 after a brief battle with cancer.
“My family and I have shared a lifetime of beautiful memories with Dolly. But so have you. She has always been on your television, your record player, your CD and on your phone’s playlist, becoming an extended part of your family whether you liked it or not,” Seaver shared in a heartfelt video announcement at the time.
The “9 to 5” artist was laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Carl Dean, in a small, private ceremony held for close family.
Despite his removal as head of security, TMZ noted that Seaver’s personal interest in Parton’s trust “remains intact.”
