Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Cocktail 2 has crossed the ₹50 crore mark at the Indian box office within four days of its release, despite witnessing an expected drop in collections on Monday.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated ₹6.35 crore net in India on its fourth day, taking its total domestic net collection to ₹53.85 crore. The film reportedly registered an occupancy of around 15% across 9,785 shows on Monday.
Cocktail 2 opened with ₹13.50 crore on Friday and showed steady growth over the weekend, collecting ₹16.25 crore on Saturday and ₹17.75 crore on Sunday. The decline on Monday follows the strong weekend trend often seen with theatrical releases.
With its latest earnings, the film has surpassed the India net collection of Varun Dhawan's Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which earned ₹50.60 crore. It has also crossed the lifetime India net collection of Ayushmann Khurrana's Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which stood at ₹51.35 crore.
Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The film is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 romantic drama Cocktail, which featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty.
Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon recently surprised fans by attending a screening of the film, interacting with moviegoers and thanking audiences for their support. She later shared moments from the visit on social media, expressing her appreciation for the response the film has received since its release on June 19.
While the film has posted strong box office numbers, critical reception has been mixed, with reviews divided over its storytelling and execution. Nevertheless, its commercial performance has remained steady in the opening days of its theatrical run.
