Asha Bhosle’s fans were recently left shocked after the death rumours of the legendary singer surfaced on social media recently. It all started after a Facebook user named Shabana Shaikh shared a post which featured a garlanded image of Bhosle with a false caption announcing her death.

“Famous singer Asha Bhosle passed away – a musical era ends (01 July 2025)," the post read. Soon after, several other similar posts echoed the sentiment, falsely mourning the demise of Bhosle.

However, Asha Bhosle’s son, Anand Bhosle, has now reacted to his mother’s death rumours and urged everyone not to believe in it. “It is untrue," he told.

It should be noted that Asha Bhosle was recently seen celebrating her husband, late music composer Rahul Dev Burman, on his 85th birth anniversary. On June 27, she remembered him by paying special respect to his most cherished possession, his harmonium, along with the many awards and medals proudly displayed around his photo.

Asha Bhosle, in a beautiful pastel saree and her signature pearl necklace, paid tribute to her husband by garlanding his photo. She then recalled her fond memories of working with RD Burman and told IANS, “I never had any difficulty tuning with him. I never faced any trouble during the recordings. I used to sing his songs very easily, but those who come now will find it difficult. They won’t be able to sing the songs that I have sung."

It is worth noting that Asha Bhosle eloped with Ganpatrao Bhosle when she was just 16. They married against their family’s wishes and had three children. However, the two parted ways in 1960. Asha then married music director-actor RD Burman in 1980 and they remained together until he died in 1994.

Asha Bhosle made a big comeback by singing the songs of Rangeela. At the age of 79, she made her debut as a leading lady in the film Mai in 2013. The legendary singer also loves cooking. She has turned her hobby into a career and runs restaurants in major cities across the world.
