Several members of Osmania University on Sunday stormed into Telugu actor Allu Arjun's Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad and damaged the property, officials said.

Cops intervened and detained eight members of the university's Joint Action Committee (JAC), who were subsequently taken to the Jubilee Hills Police Station.

The group, comprising several leaders of the Osmania University JAC, attempted to force entry into the actor's house, demanding one crore as compensation to the family of the 35-year-old woman who died on December 4 during a stampede at a cinema hall in Hyderabad where the actor arrived for the premiere of his recent release "Pushpa 2: The Rule".

A video of the incident showed several men storming inside the actor's house and causing damage to the property. Flower pots inside the compound were also destroyed by the group.

Notably, Allu Arjun was not present at his residence when the incident occurred.

The attack came hours after Telugu cinema star urged his fans to refrain from abusive language or behaviour, both online and offline, amid new allegations against him related to the Sandhya Theatre stampede case.

The woman, identified as Revathi, was killed in the stampede, while her eight-year-old son was injured and is undergoing treatment at a private super-speciality hospital in Hyderabad.

Uropar against the Pushpa actor escalated after Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged that he visited the theatre during the film's screening despite police permission being denied, a charge that Allu Arjun denied.

"There is a lot of misinformation that I behaved in a particular way (irresponsibly). These allegations are wrong. It’s humiliating and a character assassination. There is a lot of misinformation going on, a lot of false allegations, especially character assassination," the actor said while addressing a press conference on December 21.

Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad Police following the stampede, but was granted four-week interim bail by Telangana High Court on the same day. A case has been registered against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under different sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
