NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Results: UR/EWS cutoff jumps sharply, 138 students score above 690

NEET UG Result 2026: The qualifying cut-off for the UR/EWS category has increased sharply this year. It has gone up from 686–144 in 2025 to 715–213 in 2026.

NEET UG Re-Exam Result 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET UG RE 2026 results. More than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, of which 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified. Candidates can check their scorecards on the official NTA website: neet.nta.nic.in.

The cut off marks has seen a huge rise this year. The qualifying cut off for the Unreserved (UR)/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category has increased sharply this year. It has gone up from 686–144 in 2025 to 715–213 in 2026. Last year, for the General/EWS category, the qualifying mark stood at 276 at the 50th percentile, which was lower than 291 in 2023 but slightly above 275 in 2022.

Number of Qualified Candidates

The UR/EWS category recorded the highest number of qualified candidates, with 9,96,935 students clearing the exam. Among the reserved categories, 81,111 OBC, 29,947 SC, and 12,452 ST candidates qualified. Among candidates in the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories, 480 UR/EWS-PwBD, 185 OBC-PwBD, 64 SC-PwBD, and 11 ST-PwBD candidates qualified.

NEET UG Toppers 2026: Key Highlights

A total of 138 candidates scored more than 690 out of 720 marks in NEET UG RE 2026. More than 93% of the candidates who scored above 690 were appearing for NEET for the first time. Around 99% of the top rankers are between 17 and 19 years of age.

According to NTA, candidates from 36 states and union territories qualified in NEET UG RE 2026. Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of qualified candidates, with more than 1.7 lakh students clearing the exam. While Lakshadweep had 43 qualified candidates.

Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana have scored 715 out of 720 marks, thereby emerging as the highest scorers in this year’s medical entrance examination. Two female candidates have secured place in the top 10 — Kudale Shravani Krishna from Maharashtra secured rank 5 while Riya Ranjan from Bihar grabbed the sixth spot.
