A young girl from Kerala developed an AI-based app to detect eye diseases using an iPhone. The young girl's achievement garnered a lot of praise on social media.

Leena Rafeeq is a self-taught coder who took to LinkedIn to speak of her extraordinary achievement. She claimed that an app that she developed can be used to detect eye diseases or conditions such as Arcus, Melanoma, Pterygium, and Cataracts.

The young girl said that she started working on the app named 'Ogler Eye Scan' at the age of 10. The prodigy spent six long months understanding varied subjects including computer vision, algorithms, machine learning models, eye conditions and advanced levels of Apple iOS development to create the app. Soon after, she submitted the app to the app store.

Leena's post immediately caught the attention of netizens. Many lauded the young girl for her persistent efforts to create a beneficial product for society.

One stated, "It’s impressive to hear about your achievement of creating an AI mobile app that can diagnose potential eye diseases and conditions.” Another person claimed, "You deserve a huge congrats Leena. Such an awesome job at the age of 10.”

A third person stated, "Great work! I was wondering could the app be a medical device, which needs to comply with the applicable medical device regulations?" Another said, "Wow, that's amazing!
